Merrickville Fair

We will be planning our 2023
edition and look forward to seeing everyone August 11, 12 & 13, 2023.

After a few days to decompress after the scorching hot Fair weekend we need to express our thanks to everyone involved in putting it all together. Thank you to those dedicated volunteers who come out every year to help set up and tear down without being asked, they just show up. To our new volunteers who manned the admission gate, helped at the Sunday horse show, served at the beer tent and helped with other various jobs, thank you. To our wonderful sponsors listed below, we truly appreciate your support. Thank you Parkview Homes for supplying the plywood for the dance floor. Thank you to the Merrickville Veterinary Services for being on call for the horse pull and shows, the Village of Merrickville-Wolford public works department and the Merrickville Fire Department (your quick medical response to the horse ring), you folks were amazing.  Wilson Sheds provided three awesome Amish sheds for our escape rooms and the Fair office.  We had some wonderful entertainment Saturday and Sunday, thanks to Jamming Around Man Productions, who also provided our sound systems for the horse pull, livestock and horse shows.  The awesome group from Ecoles Catholiques Centre-Est sponsored our Kidz Zone this year and provided games and activities for the children while keeping a watchful eye on the inflatables.

So many thanks to so many people for making our Farm Supper a success, we hope this will be an annual event!  It was great to see folks sharing a meal and enjoying the entertainment provided by Just for Kicks Line Dancers. A huge shout out to the Apple Crisp Bakers, Willowmarch BBQ Boys and Baker’s Farm for providing wonderful food and enormous kudos to the Farm Supper Volunteers who made it all happen!

We are a small group trying to bring an affordable weekend of family fun and entertainment and to provide a bit of friendly competition in the show rings and hall exhibits.  We want to provide a place to showcase agriculture.  We will begin to plan for 2023 this Fall and would welcome any volunteers who want to sit on the Board or Chair a committee. Bring your ideas forward, but remember, we need help to execute them, so get out of your Lazyboy chair and be willing to help and not sit back and criticize.  The next Fair Board meeting is Wednesday September 28, 2022 at the Merrickville Library beginning at 7pm.

Thank you to our wonderful Sponsors, we know it has been a tough couple of years, we truly appreciate your support:
